This hand is played perfectly if you now call river. No need to bet that flop, absolutely MUST call the turn as played and should USUALLY call the river without a specific read or very worrying Hud stat to suggest otherwise.

Flop check should be meant to extract value. As such, you should be calling turn and river.

Flop check is good cause you either WA/WB. He probably c/fs all non A/7 hands to a flop bet so checking allows him to bluff later streets and you to lose less when your behind

Id probably call river cause Im a station

[/ QUOTE ]

I snap-called river and Villain showed AQo for higher kicker. I went back to check and his AF was slightly less than 1 so I wasn't really sure.

I really like the way you played it, I think river is an easy call since you induced him to bet into you.

Call river after flop check.

I assume everyone who says call would play KK exactly the same way here?

nah, I'd fold KK on the river sometimes, but never folding this hand.

Shouldn't we fire at this flop with KK too?

As for firing with KK, for me it's villain dependent. If i thought the villain was the type to bluff the ace on later streets then i would check and just let them fire. Usually i'm betting this though for around 2/3 pot with most of my 3 betting range

if u r going to 3bet PF then make it at least $12.
Bet that flop, you hit your ace.

[/ QUOTE ]

The reason I check the flop is to try to keep the pot smaller. Hes not super aggressive and if he had AJ+ and just calls I still wouldn't know where I stand.
If I bet flop, do I fold to a c/r?

[/ QUOTE ]

By 3betting pre-flop you've already started to build a big pot. I agree with Brimstead. If I'm 3betting pre I'm going to bet the flop when I hit. If he comes over the top you get away from it.
