Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

6 folds,
<font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to t1811</font>,
SB folds, <font color="#cc0000">
BB raises to t4000</font>

What's the right play knowing the following. Hero' image is regarded as tight aggressive. However, the 2 hands prior to this he opened both pots and won the blinds. The BB is tight aggressive as well.

I would push. With a loose image, he could be raising with a large range of hands, and he is probably pretty tired of being bullied around. Your stacks are deep, but there could be an argument for seeing a flop, but if he has AK-AQ, you should put him to the test. Just my .02, but I would love to see what bond and others say.

Another strategy would be that he thinks you might be over playing AK or AQ or even AJ and call with a mid PP

shove it.

I never know what to make of those minraises (bb's 3-bet is essentially a minraise)...either it's a weak player making a weak resteal attempt...or a weak player scared about losing a customer with his AA/KK...or it's a good player trying to look weak and raising it to the point where we might shove because we have fold equity.

Without a read for the latter, I shove.

Sweet, you were ahead. I would have actually been tempted to call in position because it makes his life hell on the flop (he's OOP with like 2x pot in his stack which would really suck something awful with a hand like, you know, AK.)
