Default Should I have bet for value?

Hi everyone

I know there is a v questionable call on the turn of this hand but Villan had been stealing everything and showing down some junk (no stats, sorry) so thought would stand up to him and had quite a few outs if include the king as well. My main issue is if I should have bet the river for value or are the chances of him having a heart too great? I thought he prob hasnt when he checked but is it worth the risk as if I get rr im folding for sure..

There are 4 to a flush and 4 to a straight on the board so he can't really call with worse.

If you bet here it would be more like a bluff in the hope that he folds a medium heart.

Kind of looks like a steal on the turn and then him giving up on the river. Of course, he could also have a weak heart and just be hoping for a free showdown. I might be inclined to put in a bigger bet here. If anyone thinks I'm wrong feel free to tell me, going through this just helps my game.
Checking would probably be the smartest thing to do though.

What are you going to get value from in a value bet? Check and hope he doesn't have a heart.
