I think when you have a good table 2/5 its more profitable than 1/2 but that is a rare occurence I think youre better off floating between the two depending on how the games look the 1/2 game is always good pretty much no matter where you sit. Its been kinda slow lately too which makes the 2/5 game harder IMO have only had 2-3 tables going alot of the time.

This is just another reason not to play there, the sheer amount of regulars, who just aren't as bad as a random drunk tourist.

Most of the regulars that I know would get fleeced by a random sober tourist.

This weekend when I go I'm sitting 2/5 for 30 minutes to get the 2/5 rate, and then moving to 1/2 and it's settled. On sat night the 2/5 game got pretty ok, but only between like 10-2 when we had like two serious donators playing just super aggressive LAG. Whatever.

Quick question: what are these rates of which you speak? rates for comps? or is there some special room rate for poker players?

I was at Foxwoods the same weekend. I sat down at a 1/2 NL table where the standard raise was 6BB and would get 5 callers. Huge pots. We'd have a >$100 bet about every other game. It was only my second B&M poker experience, but it was a profitable one.

The comp rate for 1/2 is 1$ per hour. A decent sandwhich at Foxwoods costs 9$, go figure.

You can ge a discounted room rate if they are available (which on the weekend, they definitely are full).

Just ask the floor. However I don't think the rate you wind up paying is any different from the normal Wampum card discount.

Thanks for the info, I searched the foxwoods website for an hour and couldn't find it.

Im believe the 2/5 rate is the same as the 1/2 rate. Sucks, but its better than nothing.
