Re: How do you find fishes for fishy home games/
my technique:
1. go to every home game i'm invited to. 2. look around. the fishies are everywhere. 3. invite them to my home game. i've had exactly 0 problems...where do you play that finding bad players is difficult? |

Just invite all of your friends to your game. If they don't play all the time, they are probably fish.
If they get lucky and win the first time they play, they'll be regulars for a while. If they lose the first 3-4 times they play, you'll probably never see them again, so you just start over inviting more people you know. |

Re: How do you find fishes for fishy home games/
My brother operates an especially fishy home game. The trick is extending an open invitation to everyone you know and saying that people can come even if they don't play poker, because there will be drinking and smoking. (You don't actually provide drink or smoke, but allow them to bring their own). Once a number of people have showed up, try to convince as many as you can to join the game.
The last one I went to had a dude who was seeing the flop every single time until someone said, "you know, you don't HAVE to call the flop. You can fold if you want." He was extremely happy to learn this information and immediately mucked his hand. |

Call me crazy but I'd rather play against stronger players in a home game. Stronger players will find the holes in my game which will, in turn, force me to fix them and make me a better player.
I certainly get all the fishy play I can handle online. |

If you make plenty of profit online and want to improve your live game, then that's fine. Some people just play for entertainment value. I know a lot of 2+2ers will get together and play lower limits live and live straddle and cap every hand, etc. because they're looking to liven it up and break from the stress of grinding out a living doing this stuff. Me, I'm 85% for profit, 15% for fun/challenge. |
