i probably fold without any previous history of villain doing stupid overbet shoves. if he's done it before more than once, i call.

Muck it, there gonna be plenty of easy spots to get it in, why pick a marginal like this one?

instamuck vs an unknown. Big overbets usually == big hand.
The corollary is until shown otherwise.

But with reads I do call this if I suspect it's a weak Q/fdraw or its' a shortie.

usually in this spot your either crushed by a set or racing with a big draw or pair + FD. I'd pay attention though, there are alot of donks you play just a bare fd like this

This is irrelevant. Either the play is +EV or it isn't. Doesn't matter if it's marginal or if better spots can be found later. If it's +EV, you call.

In general, though, I think you are crushed here without a read. It's a stupid play if he really does have a good hand, but inexperienced players love to push all-in whenever they can, even if it's not very good for them to do so. I would just fold and hope someone else gets in a hand with them where you can see what they're doing.
