Hmmm, top 10 songs, eh? That's an interesting one, and one I'm probably ill qualified to do, since there are a lot of B sides and the Pablo Honey stuff that I don't know. But I'll take a crack at it.

I'm not going to order these:

Pyramid Song
Exit Music (For a Film)
No Surprises
Everything In Its Right Place
Myxomatosis
Bullet Proof (I Wish I Was)
Motion Picture Soundtrack
Like Spinning Plates
I Will
You and Whose Army?

EDIT: Also, more commentary on the new album, please. To spur some discussion on that front: my favorite song on this one at the moment is Nude. Even given my earlier comment regarding Nude, I think it's strong, I just wish it ended differently. House of Cards seems pretty damn disposable, and Videotape could be cooler as well.

They're obviously pretty similar in my mind. They have comparable numbers of good songs, and I think Amnesiac might even have a slight edge in that regard. But, I think Kid A has two things going for it over Amnesiac:

1) It came out first.

2) As an entire, sequenced album, I think it's structured better. Everything In Its Right Place is a KILLER lead-in, and Morning Bell followed by Motion Picture Soundtrack is a pretty dramatic way to close. Amnesiac doesn't have that seem feeling of flow to me.

It's just personal preference, I have no justification for any of my choices. Musically I'm completely uneducated, so w/e. Just throwing out some lists because I'm interested to see other peoples'.

Wait. Isn't Radiohead that band that used to be pretty damn awesome back in the days of "The Bend" and "OK Computer", but then started sucking it up royally with pointless experimentation, which obviously gave them the seal of approval from Indie hipsters who only like music that is too obscure/weird to actually listen to, like Sonic Youth, and now they're out with a new album?

Yeah, no thanks.

lol. i mostly agree but Thurston Moore is kinda the man. Also, The Bends cannot be beat, not even by OKC

Wow, yeah, that pretty much nails it. Amnesiac kinda feels like the outtakes from the Kid A sessions to me. I still think it has some strong tracks though.

Another thing:

I think The Bends is living on nostalgia/memories of what it was like when you first heard it these days. It's a pretty good album, but if some band came out with that album today, I don't think it would make all too much of an impression. By contrast, I think I'd be pretty psyched about a band today that put out something that sounded anything like OKC to Hail to the Thief era Radiohead.

I think it's brilliant. I won't go so far as to list where this album falls for me, since I think it will take a while to grasp it completely. Nude is fantastic, however, and I will go as far as to say it's definitely in my top 5 for Radiohead songs. I'm really digging Reckoner as well.
