Re: Transfer scammers
[ QUOTE ]
ArnieF is a n00b [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] with 10 posts [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] most of which are asking for transfers [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] He is accused in the zoo transfer thread of scamming on 10-10-07. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Within the last few days, a well-known and respected ssnl poster tufat23 was scammed by this same guy for $1k [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Tufat corresponded with the guy under his ArnieF name [/ QUOTE ] I can think of a few more adjectives to describe tufat23 after reading the above. There are at least four, probably more, "professional" scammers working these and other forums. I was able to catch a lot of their accounts from their IP addresses, but, recently, I believe they have all discovered ways to change their IP addresses, (if they still post in the Transfers Thread, which I insist all potential Zoo transferers do, so that I can check all their IP addresses against a comprehensive list that I keep). Therefore, banning and IP address banning is a waste of time, in reality. Educating the honest wannabe transferers in ways not to be scammed is the way to go, imo. Finally, I would also suggest, as a front line of defence, that you insist that everyone in your forums go through the Zoo's Transfers Thread. I will be very happy to try to look after them as best I can. |

Re: Transfer scammers
if we are pretty sure that someone is using this site to scam people ban the [censored] away!
it's the same as someone who only posts to subtly spam. we can always unban someone if they give me compelling evidence pointing to their innocence. |

Re: Transfer scammers
But, if banning won't stop them, we need to crack down on any and all requests for transfers, loans etc.
I suspect that isn't the most palatable answer, but we may have no choice. |

Re: Transfer scammers
Thanks, Dynasty.
This is one of the really bad guys. I've recorded him as MoneyyMakerr on Stars, ThaWackoKidd on Stars, BowChikaWoWo on FTP, j4lvlie on Abs, whyamisohawt on FTP, yipekeyyamofker on FTP, j4lvlie at RedKings, j4lvlie on AP, and p0kerpl4yer2007 on FTP. I've had his e-mail addresses as jayharish@hotmail.co.uk, jamesharlem70@googlemail.com, and jamieharish1@gmail.com. He once told me his name was Arun Harish, brother of alleged scammer James. (Some details may be smokescreens.) |
