Default Re: Wynn wouldn\'t let us play chinese last night

[ QUOTE ]
We proposed starting a $5/point chinese game (a game i've played at wynn in the past) but she said no because wynn didn't spread chinese that low. We tried to explain that we were frustrated even though a) we wanted to pay to play poker, b) many dealers had nothing to do, and c) many tables were empty, we could not play.

We wanted to play a game that would bring money into the room and keep good and loyal customers playing and happy. We were prevented from doing so and the obstacle was one of two things.

1. Katherine misintepreting, misapplying, or overapplying the rules.
2. The rules are very restrictive and prevent her from effectively doing her job.

Given my experience with the other floor staff both in spreading chinese and in spreading other nonconventional games, I suspect it's the former.

This is a prime example of why I hate Poker Players. You want your way, and the second that someone says no, you complain.

You make a few assumptions. Let's address some.
1) Many dealers had nothing to do. How do you know this? Just because you see a bunch of dealers standing around, that doesn't mean that the room has extra dealers. They could be on break. Even if a dealer is on break, it doesn't mean that they always leave the room. Some of them just wait around. And although they would rather be dealing, you have to have someone on break in order to push the strings.

Many tables were empty. Just because a casino has empty tables, doesn't mean they want to open them. Opening one more table could require an extra floor supervisor to stay on, as well as keeping a dealer overtime. Add the fact that its not a normal game, and the fact that its not very profitable (which is why they dont spread it) it may not be worth the casino's time.

I love how you throw the fact that you are a loyal regular into the mix. You're playing a 4/8 game. You want special treatment and the 2/4 players want comped suites. If it was convenient and profitable for the casino, then the casino would run the game. If the floor person says no, she's doing her job and making a decision. So you cry about it.

Maybe the room doesn't even have the gambling commision approval to run the game. There could be a hundred reasons why they aren't going to run the game that they would never let you in on.

Don't like it? Don't waste our time by crying about it. Go play somewhere else.

3) The group of players who were at the center of this situation have been courted by the Wynn to become regulars.

Rules are made to be broken for the good of the company. I'm willing to bet Steve and Elaine Wynn wouldn't want to loose this groups business this late in the evening, the shift supervisor made an error in judgment since her ruling was not in the best interest of the Wynn.

Courted by the Wynn to be regulars.... TOOL

Rules are made to be broken??? NOT IN POKER ROOM! Because poker players will suddenly take that as the law. And any time a floor person tries to enforce the rule in the future, you stupid nits will say "NO, THE OTHER FLOOR PERSON SAID IT WAS OK. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO THAT!"

You people take yourselves entirely so seriously. Get lives beyond poker. You are not important to the poker rooms.

I'm a "newbie" because I don't comment on every bit of stupidity that people write. 42 posts seems like alot to me. I've been reading longer than you have been registered.

The post on another thread about how those of us who play low stakes would be better off dead may well be one of the 10 stupidest posts in the history of this forum. What a waste of a good user name.
