It's a splay of pointers pointing up at the previous post to show where its Notify button is. It caters for all sizes of screen and other technical stuff that I won't go into at this juncture.

Your helpful pointer points to the Remind Me! button on my screen.
Fwiw, i do hate that you cant change text size on the site - i usually have to change the resolution of my computer to ensure i still have eyes by the time i hit 30.

i understand how you feel. you are an old timer. im a year younger and had to ask this question several months ago. its not like we use often. we forget, along with our bad site. i too felt an idot. no harm, no foul.
