Big blind all in with less than bb - what is needed to call?

The topic should be quite self-explanatory.
Atleast at iPoker network you always have to put in the full bb to limp in, but it seems that some other networks have different rules; Just the amount of the bb all-in is needed.

So, what's the official/correct rule?
