2/4 Aces in a good spot, I make good spot worse.
Villain in this hand is a pretty tight TAG something along the lines of 18/15, villain should view me as similar and I have no history with him. I am thinking best value line with no history here is generally going to be calling flop, checking turn. betting or calling a river bet, but then the river brings a bad card. was my plan fine, and does anyone like a different one?
In hindsight i think 4 betting pre or shoving flop might have been good, but I give villain credit for being able to get away from the hand if i do those. any thoughts? Yeah I don't get why you didn't 4 bet or raise flop...
but I think a fold on the river is good |

You're right. 4-bet preflop, and raise the flop.

It kinda depends of hero's image though, but generally I think calling preflop is fine. That said raise the flop. River is a no-brainer fold. |

Re: 2/4 Aces in a good spot, I make good spot worse.
i think calling pre is pretty much standard here
raising flop is ok, calling is ok too imo. I think the only serious mistake in this hand is the turn check. As an aside, if villain can instafold AK and QQ pre to a fourbet here, and if villain can instafold KK and AQ to a flop raise here, then you seriously need to up the aggression in your game man. |

why are people saying raise the flop? you really think villain stacks off here with AQ? call>>>>raise.

Re: 2/4 Aces in a good spot, I make good spot worse.
Without much history, I shove preflop. An 18/15's going to have a very tight range to reraise here. He may also not not stack off with a bare QQ overpair postflop. On the other hand, you get called by QQ/AK preflop soooo often.
If you're not in the mood for the eccentric then the hand looks fine. |
