6.50 Am I trying to be Negreanu here?
Tell me what you think of this one. PF I think I'm ok, not c-betting this is probably terrible. I keep thinking he's got AQ, I know it, and when he calls the turn bet I'm convinced...so I check the river when my ace spikes. Genious or really stupid? I rarely put villians on only a single hand, but in this hand as played is there any reason to bet the river, figuring only a set or AQ calls?

Re: 6.50 Am I trying to be Negreanu here?
If you just "think" he has AQ for no particular reason then you should be betting this river, many other hands will call that you beat.
Edit: And yes c-bet 300 or so. |

Re: 6.50 Am I trying to be Negreanu here?
If you're gonna bet the turn just bet the flop? And holy cow value bet the river unless you know he checks the onions on the river for some reason. Also pf in a $6 with 3 limpers already I just limp along, does anyone think that's bad?

[/ QUOTE ] I concur, raising against 3 limpers should be the better play; why let less than stellar hands get any further in the hand, make them pay to beat you. I am typically raising 5-7xBB against 3 limpers. |

I don't do it often but there are times with certain tables where I think its best to just limp behind and take a flop. I'm by no means advocating limping AK every time you get it. Maybe I'm way off here since I don't have a strong argument for doing it, just going off of experience. |

Re: 6.50 Am I trying to be Negreanu here?
Premium is one thing, but against 3 limpers at this buy in, IF I am raising, it is not to build a pot, but rather to thin the field. IMHO AK plays best with a smaller pot PF against several limpers, or if it is going to be a bigger pot, against 1 or 2 opponenets.
I play both ways, though in this case I like the argument for thinning the field AND potentially buying the button. Fammy |

Re: 6.50 Am I trying to be Negreanu here?
I can see a few situations where limping behind w/ AK would pay off (getting AT+ allin on Axx board) and about 1000 where you would win a small pot or lose a big one.
