Re: MTT\'ers... what is your edge?
Where does our edge come from in MTT?
1: Generally Folding dominated hands to raises. 2: Generally Folding dominated Aces from early position. 3: Speculating well early with hands that can make monsters. 4: Speculating well in middle game with hands that can make sets. 5: Using position and a dominating chip stack to steal pots from weak tight players. 6: Restealing from opponents that raise wide but call narrow to our push. 7: Properly using short stack strategy in late game, by using resteals, stop and go, open pushes depending upon our chip stack at the time. 8: Having an understanding of ICM, how chips are not cash, and using $EV to make the best decision at each decision point. 9: Abusing the tightness of players at the bubble and final table by open pushing and openraising much wider than the field. 10: Making good pot odds calls of short stack pushes in the late game. Now... Execution is the hard part, and lets not forget the all important final two: 1: Run goot. 2: Win every coin flip. 4Card |

Re: MTT\'ers... what is your edge?
Lately, I don't feel like I have an edge. I feel more like a nice round soccer ball.
To those of you who that do have an edge, how many rounds does it take to tag an opponent as weak/tight, etc? I am finding it difficult to do with so few show downs. |

[ QUOTE ]
i'm crazy and don't give a rats ass about busting out of any tournament. seriously. [/ QUOTE ] Recklessness is important. I sucked in MTT's when I actually tried to survive. Now I take coin flips, raise every hand... and I do well. |
