There are plenty of sites which offer to keep your roll in £ or Euros, but there are obvious negatives to these sites. Start at iPoker and work your way down in size of none US networks pretty much.

But yeah, cant argue that even with the negatives of it, not paying tax is a damn huge positive - but its a constant positive whereas the negative is increasing. If you see what i mean.

The amazing thing here is watching all the non-American posters gloat. I guess basing your national pride on exchange rates is one of those things every country in the world except America is into, like soccer or the metric system. Wonder how long it takes before you all break out in howls of impotent rage: "But, you're humiliated! You lost your life savings! How dare you not notice!"

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you retarted? We are COMPLAINING that our currencies are gaining in strength relative to the US $ because we play in US $ and hence our bankrolls are worth less. The gloating, at least on my part, is a figment of your apparently sensitive American ego.

[/ QUOTE ]

The subject line escapes you.

It was: "Re: Beat - The US Dollar [Re: leo.] "

So go read what leo. wrote.

Or don't. Just throw around insults.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, excuse me for thinking that when you write "all the non-American posters" you actually mean "this specific non-American poster to whom I am individually responding without quoting."

And, after reading what leo wrote, it doesn't strike me as gloating. But then I don't take the value of currency as a slight on my national ego or something.

BTW, if there's any more domestic inflation than usual, I haven't noticed it. Which probably means this is purely an artifact of the currency markets; either the dollar was overvalued before or it's undervalued now.

[/ QUOTE ] LOL. There are more factors than domestic consumer inflation that affect the value of a currency. Ratio of foreign debt to GDP comes to mind.

[/ QUOTE ]

Interest rates. I think Norway is one of very few countries who still projects interest hikes. Add that to fed slashing theirs and I'm getting screwed worse than any of you.

Just had this flash up on google bar:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7069087.stm

"The UK pound has hit its highest level against the US dollar in 26 years."

"The pound rose as high as $2.066 in earlier trading, before paring gains slightly to $2.064."

My expenses are in £s. My earnings are in $. Urgh. Poker is getting harder and the as the $/hr drops so does the value of that $. Double Urgh.
