Default Are cards predetermined before they\'re dealt?

Just wondering if anyone knows. Are the cards online determined before the hand is dealt? Or is each street randomly generated as the cards come up?

It depends on the site. Each site should have their method somewhere on their webpage.

Josh is correct, depends on site. Stars is predetermined, FTP and Party I believe are not. I'm 100% sure on stars, maybe 95% sure on the others.

i always thought Stars was continuous shuffle, but someone posted a reply from Stars support saying it's predetermined.

not that it matters.

you're going to try to time hitting the call button 5.89 seconds after the guy bets to get your miralce card?

I like to assume that they're not predetermined so I don't go on tilt when the 77 I folded to a reraise flops quads.

True, but under this structure if you would have just hit the call button a millisecond earlier you wouldn't have gotten 1 outed on the river. To me this is much more agonizing.

Stars Card Generator (Scroll to Shuffle)

Apparently at Pokerstars, it's based on the way you move your mouse and the temperature of their processors, to get random numbers to determine the random cards.

This one line sounds like a hand is generated first, then it is dealt out. It makes sense cause once you shuffle a real deck of cards, it's predetermined what's coming:

"Furthermore, we apply conservative rules to enforce the required degree of randomness; for instance, if user input does not generate required amount of entropy, we do not start the next hand until we obtain the required amount of entropy from Intel RNG."
