Is it hard to obtain residency in Canada?

Not too hard... somewhere around impossible without marrying a Canadian. Just like every other rich, English speaking country. If English speaking is a requirement and you aren't going to India or something (which I'm assuming you aren't), then you are kind of out of luck.

I don't get why you need to live in an English speaking country though. They have English classes everywhere and I'm sure their first language would be English anyways through you. And a foreign language for their schooling would be pretty damn beneficial, depending on the country.

If you are looking for an English speaking country with equal Cost of Living to the USA, why are you leaving the USA to begin with?

I am mainly concerned about the kids being able to continue their education and interact with other kids.

I think the experience of living in a different culture would be great for them. And me!

And the reason why I am considering a move is the continuing effects of the UIGA. The sites I can play at are already limited and today's developments are really looking bleak for the (north) American player.

If you get a chance can you fill me in on the lifestyle in Buenos Aires a little bit more? Is it a pretty safe place? Are the suburbs nice? Are there a lot of family oriented things to do? (Like mini-golf or bowling)

Yeah, I live in NJ now, but I used to live in Montreal for a couple of years. I have to say that I really loved it...rent was very inexpensive. From 2000-2002 I rented out a new condo for about $375 US. It's a little more expensive now but still cheap.

The people are very nice and the Quebecois women are quite beautiful - I married one.

Good food, good nightlife, nice summers, crap winter. Oh, and the Montreal casino sucks- no poker!
