don't think that is the case at all, once park and position(not defense just overall postion value) is factored

He hits as well as Matt Holliday and he's a shortstop.

I don't know anything concrete on his defense, but consensus is that it's poor. If so, he falls below Wright and Holliday, who are considered excellent fielders. Toss a coin between them if you need, they're that close.

Of course, when Jimmy Rollins wins it this won't matter.

chipper is having a fantastic season and if he hadn't missed those games due to injury, would have a real shot at the mvp. i hope he gets the batting title and the gold glove. fantastic year for a future hall of famer
