iirc it was something like 220 seats, so however many runners that is. no clue about this year but I bet it'll be more than last year.

iirc last year's 150 seat tourney had a $650 buy-in, so there'll be more runners and less seats per/runner.

It wasn't 650 - it was in the $350 range. (I think $320, but could be off by a bit). Def not $650, as I considered playing...

Last year was $370 people like this year. It had over 7000 players (which at the time was the largest Sunday field we had ever had) and it gave away 225 I think.

Can anyone who played this tournament last year comment on how it played? Lots of weaker players taking a last stab? Lots of strong players doing this one instead of the weekly millons - knowing that lots of weaker players are taking a stab? What level buyin tournament does this one compare to?

My initial thought was that it might be a good one to take a stab at, given most of the strong players have already qualified and are prob already in Vegas. But this logic mght be totally false given this dynamic would attract the great players. Also, the huge numbers (7000?!) make it clear it'll be a luckfest to get deep regardless of skill.

But I read someone (Andathar?) describing it as one of the most profitable tournaments out there...

Thoughts / comments / speculation?

Hi MasterE569,

Last year, 7,377 players battled it out, resulting in 234 of them earning WSOP packages. I can only guess how large it will be this year, but I can tell you that we've got a wide range of satellites to the tournament, with more on the way later today (S&G).

Here are the ways we've got for you to reach the big satellite:

$5.50+R MTT --> $370 Qualifier
$11+R MTT --> $370 Qualifier
$16 Double Shootout --> $370 Qualifier
$16 Double Shootout [turbo] --> $370 Qualifier
$27+R MTT --> $370 Qualifier
$27+R [turbo] MTT --> $370 Qualifier

$3.30+R [turbo] MTT --> $55 MTT --> $370 Qualifier
$8.80+R [turbo] MTT --> $88 Last Chance [turbo] on Sunday --> $370 Qualifier

(Y'all might recognize ^^ .. they're similar to the "Round 0" tournaments we created for WSOP sats ($4.40+R --> $80) specifically in response to requests on 2p2. Thanks as always for the feedback; we don't just listen to it, we absolutely depend upon it!!)

$24 Double Shootout [turbo - 6-max] S&G --> $370 Qualifier
$2.20 Triple Shootout [turbo - 6-max] S&G --> $370 Qualifier

Good luck to you, and to all of our players!

All the best,

Bryan S.
