I am glad some tool acting tough got lit up, but Sackup and others are right. You shouldn't post about it because of your potential legal exposure. Self defense only entitles you to respond in kind to the threat presented. If backing down could diffuse the situation you are required to do so.

OP was assaulted first w/ the shove so when OP hit the guy that could be considered self defense.

edit: i see a bit of this has already been discussed in the thread by blarg and sack however the initial shove was never addressed as assault. simply something like a bad decision. there could be legal ramifications behind that shove. if that were the end of it there never would be but because it escalated from there there's always the possibility.
