here was a beauty that i forgot about from friday that exhibits what it takes to beat nosebleed games live and why we will probably never play as high as this person has:

step 1 open utg 8 handed or so with K6s and get 3bet by dd who holds QJ. now 4bet all in for your last chip

flop QJ3. turn K river 6

To be fair I think his play was fine considering he was about to blind out of the tournament.

How about the bet/3 bet with the naked gutterball hand?

imo deathdonkey's play there is much worse than K6s given stack size

EDIT: well, not if he was in a blind

EDIT2: pokerstove says otherwise, i guess i suck

hahahahaha my [censored] eyes are watering from laughing so hard, this is pure gold

the T7 hand is completely standard. also completely standard is that against good players he hits every time but against random retards you get to hear "you win" after he is called on the river.

stinkypete: no, dd 3bet him from mp somewhere. btw if dd was the button in this his play is prob okay bc roc will open wide range here bc he does not want to take bb and be forced to 3bet all in on his next hand so QJ should probably stand up fairly well with $125 dead money in there.

Looks like two fish were playing this hand-one was just lucky enough to take it down. What were you thinking on the turn! If you thought he had a FD you would just bet out the CR seems silly as he is screaming QQ+ as a likely holding. He may have two pair + alot of the time inwhich case he'ed be posting about you

So I show up to play 15-30 lastnight, not because I want to or feel like it, but because I want to get hours in and I was supposed to run into Brick there.

Instead, I have the good fortune of running into PJ, whose bigger game broke, and he was humble enough to sit in my lowly 15-30 game. I proceeded to play bad, fail to read hands well, select lines that sucked, lose focus on the action, and torch 50bbs.

Wowowowow. That was embarassing. I felt like Paul Newman after getting hustled by forrest wittiker in the color of money. "I showed my ass in there. I got nothing left to show you kid!"

Somehow, I either managed to bring my D game to the casino that night, or I was just confronted with a ton of situations that I habitually play bad. It was probably both really.

Which makes me wonder: Sometimes, when we play really well in a session, how much is due to being dealt familiar situations, and how much is it due to actually playing well?

Remind me to: not play on an empty stomache. Not drink beer while I play. Exercise more than 2x/month. I am turning into a sloppy bastard here.

You were playing badly before you ordered the Corona.

Just kidding. I would take it easy on the bluffs, though. When live players call a turn c/r with an Ace on board, they're not folding a brick river.

I've never had my own graph before. This is since the start of the weekend. I'm hoping to have a +$6,000 month. I'm playing 10/20 Limit (live), usually about 4 hours a day. Is this a realistic goal?

sorry to be a noob, but what program is this? I'm tired of using excel as a live "poker tracker"

so i was reading an email a friend sent me when i spotted this fantastic word: "orienteering". i'm a bit of an ocd freak when it comes to grammar/spelling (it wasn't easy to change my posting style) so i would normally have like a seizure when i see this word in the middle of a paragraph but it was just so hilariously out of place/not even a word that i just got a huge grin on my face and started laughing.

unfortunately my fun was dashed a little bit when i looked it up online to see that it is actually a word but it most certainly did not fit the context of the sentence it was in. id be pretty lol embarassed if i was totally wrong and this word was in the right spot but i seriously doubt it so now i just have to enjoy pronouncing this word in my head a few times because it is so great and new to me (and once i forget it i will most likely never hear again in my life).
