Re: An Interesting Poll

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I wonder why that is, honestly. [/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing that age and experience make people more perceptive. [/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing that older people are a lot less likely to vote for a women for President. [/ QUOTE ] THis is why it's a totally useless poll question. You're both just guessing, and there is no way to ascertain who is correct. |

I'm guessing that older people are a lot less likely to vote for a women for President. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think that's true at all. Can you name all of the women who have run for President? You can't win if you don't play. UK accepted Thatcher. I would have easily supported, campaigned, and voted for Jeanne Kirkpatrick (had she run). I support Rice if she runs. But I'm not going to support a candidate because she's a woman. This poll has very little to do with Hillary the woman, and everything to do with Hillary the candidate. |

UK accepted Thatcher. [/ QUOTE ] The UK system is far different than our US govenermnet. The polarity of our parties and the winner take all style are not condusive for such diversity. In my opinion hte Democrats need a sure winner, Clinton is not that. She may have a shot (at long odds I'd say) but she most certainly cannot compete with a strong republican nominee. Her nomination will be a kin to the Dems giving away the election. |

Her nomination will be a kin to the Dems giving away the election. [/ QUOTE ] It's worse than that. Because if she merely runs in the primaries and loses, the democrats are much more likely than the repubs to let primary divisiveness carry over into the general election and not close ranks 100% behind an actual non-Hillary nominee. And by closing ranks, I don't just mean publicly supporting the nominee with a couple soundbites and vote on election day, but actually working hard to insure that nominee's election. Hillary's very presence in the democrat primaries, regardless of the actual outcome, poisons the well for all democrats. |

Re: An Interesting Poll
The mediums ability to massage the message is disappearing -- the medium must deliver at the very least honesty and good intent -- embody and be the message. This is not in Hillary's repertoire. I, for one, would love to watch her run a cappella. I've already purchased a front row seat, as have many of my friends.
