computer upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my computer for more speed and to run dual monitors. As for as speed I plan to upgrade to 1gig of ram...but to dual monitor what upgrade do i need to make to my laptop?

You should have a monitor out - small blue rectangle with a shorter bottom than top - plug.
