Default stealing w/ 87s

here's a hand i watched a few days ago. Hero is a uNL poster. not sure if he had reads. thoughts?

No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $25.25
CO: $25.55
Hero: $24.30
SB: $27.50
BB: $43.35

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises to $3.25</font>, BB folds, Hero calls.

Yeah there is no need to call reraises with 87s. Thats a flop fold there for you nearly always.

meh i dont mind the call pf as long as he doesnt do it every time. he has position here and he can easily take it down when people get frustrated by their hand either missing or having that Ace come in and kill their KK/QQ/JJ.

edit: just to clarify, im extremely stubborn

nah too spewy imo. Villain might not fold KK on an A high board anyway.

I think the main problem with calling the raise is here is simply a result of the initial bet and subsequent raise.

You are having to call $2.25 which is a little too close to that magic 10% of your stack mark for me to make the call. If you had simply raised pot, the 3-bet would likely have been .30 less back to you ... its not a huge difference, but its enough to swing what would be a borderline, loosish call to a fold in my book.
