You know how dealers in the pit count and split their tokes daily? When I wrote tickets (mid-90's), we'd count and split them every two weeks. Envelope was usually worth $20-30. $50 was worth a celebration. (I'm told that my $5/day estimate is low. I suspect that's because the place I worked did a horrible job of securing the tip money, and more was stolen than turned in. Even allowing for that, I can't imagine a ticket writer making much more than $10/day.)
