This may have been asked before, but i couldnt find it.

3 handed, dealt 23478 in the BB, do you stand pat the whole way or draw?

you raise, re-raise and raise again, until your opponenet draws one and check raises you, then if you are giantly sure he somehow made a better hand you can ditch the eight. But 3 handed it's pretty sick if you lose this one. triple draw is a very feely game, this hand is good enough to win on a full table a lot of the time, 3 handed you would hope it wins, certinaly be willing to cap before the draw, and probably even the second draw, having position is good too

def. stand pat, even at a full table you stand pat here until further notice. I would say that with over half of the people I play with i wouldnt ever break this hand to their raises. But if you know that your opponent will only raise an 86 or better than you can safly break. If you are in position and its chekced to you on the end I will always value bet as well because they are going to call with most anything J or better in case you on a total snow. Occasionally some donk will beat you with 34568 or something and you will wish you broke, but your giving up way to much to break this hand predraw.

Funny you bring this up, was playing today 6 handed and stood pat on 8-7, betting the whole way until the last draw when another player stood pat after check raising, he had a 7, another guy had a 8-6, and another donk hit the nut low while drawing 2 cards. Frustrating game, but very mathematical and easy to lose money to someone better than you.

depends on the action of course silly, but yes you should generally stand pat and hope for the best.
