Default Liger vs Grizzly Bear

Who wins?

Liger
[ QUOTE ]
Ligers grow much larger than lions and even larger than the largest tigers, which can weigh in excess of 386 kg (850 lb). Some ligers have been estimated to weigh well over 550 kg (1200 lb), [2] over twice the size of a male lion; this is called growth dysplasia. The liger is the largest animal in the feline family Felidae.

[/ QUOTE ]

Grizzly Bear
[ QUOTE ]
Grizzly Bears reach weights of 180–680 kg (400–1,500 lb); the male is on average 1.8 times as heavy as the female, an example of sexual dimorphism. Their coloring ranges widely across geographic areas, from blond to deep brown or black. These differences, once attributed to subspeciation, are now thought to be primarily due to the different environments these bears inhabit, particularly with regard to diet and temperature.

The Grizzly has a large hump over the shoulders which is a muscle mass used to power the forelimbs in digging. The head is large and round with a concave facial profile. In spite of their massive size, these bears can run at speeds of up to 55 km/h (35 mph).

Grizzly. Liger's can hardly survive on their own in the wild, if anything that i've ever heard about them is true.

Edit: ok, maybe i was wrong. can't seem to find that information anywhere, but i still say grizzly, and that it wouldn't be much of a contest.

If you look at humans with growth disorders they look very weak and would probably be owned by a well built athlete.

Maybe its the same with ligers? Grizzly >> Liger

kurosh

even though i think the liger is much more agile than the grizzly, i am going to have to put my money on the grizzly. i dont think the liger has the intelligence to not fight the grizzly face to face and would therefore get his liger ass kicked.

Our cat that we "own" looks fat as hell too, but thats because he's putting on his winter coat because he's an outside cat. That doesn't mean that if he wasn't the size of a liger he couldn't kill me with the swipe of a paw. I stand by that the cat will kill the bear, but I do think it would be a battle of the ages.

Good post btw, I really think this is a close call.

Grizzly for the win.

Bears are wild animals adept in defending their food, territory, and mating prowess. Hence they have natural fighting instincts.

Ligers are man made freaks who live in zoos and with traveling Rennaissance carnies, performing dumb tricks for treats. Liger would never know what hit him.

If Ligers retained the fighting instincts of their lion and tiger forefathers, then they would be favored to win.
