Calling down sucks but I still think it is profitable.
In this particular hand the dilemma could have been avoided by folding preflop.

I open A7o in the CO, but I fold it in MP. Often the opponents behind you at 1/2 are too loose and A7o becomes hard to play when one or both of them cold call. Here I think you have to call down.

from my experiences at the lower levels (1/2, 2/4), it's best just to pitch it preflop.

You want to raise preflop to:
1) win the hand right there
2) build the pot with a big hand
3) have initiative AND position

you're going 0/3 in this spot with A7o at this level. Higher levels, you'll buy the button more often, making this a decent/good raise. If you can't get the button, just fold and move on.

.... but I'm a nit

At these levels folding pf is the best play. After the button raise I think you need to fold.

I agree with preflop being a fold.

I noticed in Schneids latest vid (which is 1/2) that he talks about A9o being a borderline open for him in this spot (He was sitting in MP but the CO was actually out of the hand. I still don't think he's recommending pitching A9o in the CO, he probably just didn't notice that the CO wasn't in the hand).
