Heh, I was just about to post that.

The guy is a genius and madman at the same time. Insane for coming up with this, but a genius for well...coming up with this.

Further legal woes (sort of ) for Vick: he's being sued by a prison inmate for "$63,000,000,000 billion" (which would be 63 quintillion dollars) for violating various constitutional rights of his as well as committing numerous torts (which would make Vick a tortfeasor- I love that word).

Complaint

My guess is a 2 year sentence but serve less than a year. Then 2-4 years probation.

After listening to a lawyer today, that's not possible. It's a federal case- you serve at least 85% of the sentence.

Anyone else agree? Even slightly?

To argue as Iverson would, we're not talking about humans. we're talking about dogs

I <3 animals but I hate PETA even more. I think the general public is being very hypocritical. Would they care if this was cockfighting? F no they wouldn't. Is it based on the same principle? F yes (IMO at least)

Cockfighting is animal cruelty. I'm sure anyone who's against dog fighting is also against cockfighting. The reason why it's not being discussed is due to not having a celebrity funding a cockfighting ring. It's amusing how people think that Vick shouldn't receive so much scrutiny. Wasn't he the one funding the whole operation?

Let me break it down for you. Once a famous face gets involved in anything that involves breaking the law, he will receive negative publicity. I promise you that when a celebrity funds a cockfighting ring, he will receive negative publicity.

Regarding hunting, hunters will tell you its population control. PETA thinks otherwise. That's a battle that's been going on for a long time. I'm assuming you don't watch the news much? Is it discussed daily? No. However, I'm sure if you search the web, you'll find similar boards like this one that's discussing this sudden "hot-button" issue on hunting.

hauchen,

I'm a vegetarian who doesn't really like PETA. I would be more upset about cockfighting than dogfighting. Cockfights generally involve tying a blade to the [censored] foot and fights generally last less than a minute.

While the details of the dogfighting ring are disturbing that's not what is going to cause him the biggest problem with the NFL. It's the gambling that Vick bankrolled. Even though it's nothing to do with football the commisioner with not be pleased. Nor with the lies Vick told him to his and Arthur Blank's face.

He should have conspired to murdered someone, stabbed two people, or ran someone over so we could at least still buy his jersey.
