Re: BRAG: Saved a TON OF MONEY
[ QUOTE ]
3 Men go to a hotel and take a room, which costs 25$. Each of them give the manager 10$ (3 times 10$ = 30$). Men go to their room, when the manager realizes he forgot to give his customers 5$ back, so he sends his son to the men with the 5$. While going to the room, the son is in a pickle, because he does now know, how to divide 5$ with 3 men, so he decides to keep 2$ to himself and give each of the men 1$. Now, all of the 3 men payed 10$ and got 1$ back, so they payed 9$ each -> 9$ x 3$ = 27$ and the managers son has 2$ -> 27$ + 2$ = 29$. In the beginning the men payed 30$, so where did the 1$ dissapear? [/ QUOTE ] The $2 the bellboy takes is included in the $27 payed by the guys amirite? |

The problem uses a poor logical representation of the math. It's assuming the guys payed out $9 each (because of the dollar rebate at the end, when they each actually paid $8.33 in rent, lost $0.67 each to the owners son and recieved $1 back each). $10 + $10 + $10 = $30 = $25 + $2 + $1 + $1 + $1 ) |

Re: BRAG: Saved a TON OF MONEY
The ppl paid $27 total, the bellboy took $2, the hotel has a net income of $25.
Its not $27+$2...its $27-$2 |
