The announcers mentioned during the game some veteran that they were close to signing last week before they selected Rattay. Does anyone remember who that was?

As for the game, the score was misleading. They played the game really close for 3.5 quarters. But WTF happened on the Smith TD reception? I've never seen a CB just stop in the middle of a play before.

[/ QUOTE ]

He said he thought he had safety help deep.

Anyone see Adrian Wilson run down that RB on that 80 yard run at the end of the game? Thats a guy who never quits on a play.

I believe it was Vinny, who wound up spurning them when Carolina came calling, as he wanted to be closer to home (Florida).

What was the point in continuing? You don't catch Steve Smith. It was all over once Smith pulled even with the DB. I can see why you'd want him to show some effort, but he wasn't catching him plain and simple

Was it Rolle? I would assume I had safety help if I were Rolle on that play because:

a. I suck at man coverage.
b. It was Steve Smith.

Maybe that goes for all AZ corners...

I'm not taking a shot at Hood, once he got the coverage wrong and realized he didn't have help, he was too far behind to catch up to any receiver, let alone Smith.

I'm just saying that Adrian Wilson greatly impressed me. He's a big guy and the game was effectively over once the RB broke the 40 yard line but he still ran him down while the RB was going full speed. It was like watching a lion catch a gazelle.

[/ QUOTE ]The point is that he gave up BEFORE Smith even caught the ball. Smith looked back, Hood stopped. Hood looked completely confused.

ugh....Rackers had a chance to pull off a big win

seems he misses those big chances more than he makes them

nice performance from Warner IMO

It was a 54 yarder and he missed by about a foot. I wouldn't call that a choke.
