Good grief. Some of you are real nits. This is what some of you guys make out of this. Always under estimating your oponents like this. Wait til you get owned. Let it die along with the hand. Besides, the only you thing you can beat is a bluff.

that's the dumbest post i've read

I think most good players will raise here with air. If you think theres a decent chance he's capable of this and is unlikely to have called with a 6 or 2 in his hand then I like betting an amount that looks like a blocking bet, about half pot and calling a raise.

Another added benefit is he is unlikely to reraise with JJ+.

TWP: players peel this flop with ace high all the time.

tight players against a presumably tight utg pfr?

But dov, the flop is so innocuous that it seems plausible someone may float iwth AJ

and sometimes when that second board pair pairs... some players even like slowplaying A high on the turn

people, if the villain had complete air (not even A high), they would have bet the turn if they're thinking at all here.

A high will more likely call than repop river.

There's no value in betting this river card. Your only going to get raised, not called if you bet. He has nothing, you get no value from betting. I think his check on the turn told you everything you needed to know. Unless you have strong history togehter, I think you need to check and give up. I don't think he called you on the flop with Ace high, that would be very stupid. Maybe in a 1-2 game but not 10-20.

Alright, just for you. But I would like to know why you think I'm wrong and your rite. Just curiosity. We can take this offline if you want. Opinions are encouraged!

opinions are encouraged, but you entered the post with such a resolute tone that it seemed like you were certain, more certain than anyone on this forum, that the play on the river was check/fold... which is laughable

As an additional minor point, even if you think that AA and TT are both bluff catchers, AA is a better bluff catcher than TT. It is not 100% inconceivable (although of course I agree that it would be rare) for him to bluff with JJ to try to move you off of a higher overpair.

haha.........
