To answer all questions.

It's a fairly large CA card room. Aside from this one issue, it's fairly well run. I'd rather not give the name.

I don't necessarily have too much of an issue with regulars getting bumped up in line when there are multiple tables but with 1 table it becomes a problem.

It's a dry erase board and I have called in to ask where I'm at on the list and have actually moved backwards multiple times. When I call them on it they usually give me some BS but then try to get me bumped up. Still my main issue is that the new players can't get in.

Since I'm a regular, I'd rather not alienate myself with the staff and other players. Don't s**t where you work so to speak.

There is another casino that I sometimes play but it's a bit of a drive. I haven't seen anything unusual with their board. I guess I'll just play there on peak hours. I'm also planning on moving to Vegas sometime next year so I can live with it short term. It's just a shame that the regulars are killing the best action without even realizing it.

I also believe the staff sometimes deliberately keeps it down to 1 table just to keep the tips comming.

sort of tells you where you stand as a regular

I’d talk with the other regulars about approaching management en masse about opening a second table to allow more new blood into the game. Unless it’s an O8 game, most of the other players probably feel as you do about the lack of easy money.

To be fair they are limited on tables so they would have to break up a lower limit table to get a second game going. Also they sometimes do run a second feeder table during the week but it doesn't seem to happen on the weekends when it's the most crowded. The list for the 1 game will get longer than the next lower game running on 4 tables so it doesn't seem justified.

Guess your local casino has 100 poker tables and never has more than 8 running at a time, so opening a new table at the drop of a hat is no problem.

Is it an electronic board or on paper/dry erase? You could sign up and then ask how many people ahead of you. Then after the number of people seated exceed the number they told you, ask what the F is going on. They really can't be Richards to you since they are the ones bending you over.

[/ QUOTE ]

The people that are good at getting players in before they should don't have to worry about this as they are good at doing it (they keep some names on the list so if someone they want to get in shows up they give them that seat so the people waiting aren't aware they are being skipped).

They aren't that clever I will often see a list with one hand writing and 2 names at the top with different handwriting. Sometimes the floor just doesn't report the seat open to the brush. Sometimes they know when someone on the list is gone and they take that seat. Sometimes they just look for someone to not respond when a name is called and then say it's them. One time someone tried to represent that they were me until I showed up at the seat. Another time a player I knew and was waiting with said, "remember today I am this name and didn't realize it was me." I used to get so confused with players names when they seemed to have a different one every day.
