Default Say Francisco/San Jose Rooms?

Used the search function and there's no topic about this.

I'm looking for a room to play at up here. I've heard of Bay Area 101 but can't find much info. about it. I'm slightly closer to San Jose, but assume that there would be better rooms in SF. I'm looking to play small-to-mid limit poker in the range of 5/10 to 10/20. Any help on the juiciest times to play would be nice too.

The best games are in San Jose generally, although at that level pretty much anywhere would work.

I'd recommend playing 6-12 or 8-16 at Bay 101 or Garden City. The Garden City game has a 1/2 kill. They are all fun, just try them out and see which one you like.

Thanks. I'll probably check out Bay 101.

What are the differences between the 6/12 8/16 12/24 20/40 games in terms of how often they run, how good the games get, how beatable they are, etc.?

Fun's always part of it, but trying to build more BR/spending cash than have fun.

There will be multiple tables 24/7. It should be always beatable, usually good. Games are better on nights/weekends of course. The 20/40 is usually soft too, or at the very least it will be possible to find a soft table.

I found several threads on this in the last few months. I know, search sucks. But anyway, the upshot is this:

http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Bay_Area

A terrific rundown on all the Bay Area rooms.

Also, I've never been, but I've heard Bay101 is the king of LHE in the Bay Area, both in terms of number of games and in terms of action.

You'll have a much easier time getting a seat at Garden City than Bay 101. Depending on where you are, you may want to consider 6/12 at Artichoke Joe's or Lucky Chances.

Just go during meal time. Put your name on the list, go eat, read two or three of the free magazines, then you'll only have an hour left to wait.

I played some 6/12 at Bay 101 in the Fall. It was during the day on a Tuesday and the game was very, very soft. I can't imagine it being anything other than a goldmine on the weekends.
