I do have a rental, and wouldn't go during rush hour. Sometime after dinner, 7-8 or so.

How far is Oceans 11?

If there's REALLY no traffic, you can do it in 45 min. Pretty much everyone drives 85 MPH once you get past San Clemente.

I echo much of what others have already posted, but let me add some others:

Crystal Park - off 91 freeway, near the 710...Santa Fe exit I think. Small place, many regulars, not good place for tourists.

Farther down the 91: Hustler in Gardena - from 91, north on 110, first exit (Redondo Bch, I think). Go west to Vermont. You'll see it on left. Love Hustler...you might run into Phil Ivey, Ted Forrest, Dutch Boyd, and other pros playing at Larry's (Flynt) table.

Commerece: many good players there at all limits. It is the poker mecca. But there are plenty of fish too.

Hawaiian Gardens: not my cup of tea, but plenty of fish. A lot of chasers. They love to "gambool" there.

The Bike: This is a great place. Many Good players. Plenty of bad players. They spread Crazy Pineapple! The new waitress uniforms are hot.

Ocean 11: Nice place. Many locals. I have seen some...ahem...amazing...things happen there. It is a bit of a drive from Irvine..not for locals, but tourists find it a bit long. And it's a long drive home later.

Hope this helps.
