There is no way in hell I fold either of these.

in hand 2: we RR a tag w/ AQ. we bet flop and he check raised us. are we really ahead of his range often enough to make a call +ev?

we're getting 2:1 on a shove so we only need 33% equity

i think the point on hand 2 is that if you're not looking to commit, don't bet the flop.

could someone please elaborate on TPTK in reraised pots, I have trouble grasping the concept of not folding when villain is repping overpair/sets ..?

QFT

I'm not delighted about getting it in here vs. a TAG but bet-folding top pair in a 3bet pot isn't a great idea. I have taken to check-raising all-in in these situations actually.

Hand 1 I like calling then check-raising all-in on a safe turn. Check-fold if it's a diamond or straight card.

Basically no one has odds to call with suited connectors/pocket pairs to hit their hand in 3 bet pots so the only way to make a call profitable is to c/raise bluff over the cbet a fair bit. c/raise bluffing can be profitable if your opponent 3bets widely. And it becomes super profitable if your opponent will bet/fold a hand as strong as TPTK.

OK thx. So in today's games there is enough bluffing in 3 bet pots that we don't fold TPTK.
That actually comes as a surprise to me.

There is no way in hell that a shove in Hand 1 is standard. Folding is more standard than shoving.

Hand 2 I think I get it in and it's much closer to a "I'm not considering folding."

Basically

Hand 1: I lean towards a fold

Hand 2: I lean towards a shove

His range includes so many draws that folding the first hand is def. giving up EV in my opinion.
