ADDENDUM: Does shortstacking retard your poker growth?

IMO, YES and NO

Honestly, if one shortstacks the way I'm recommending, it's still an awful lot of poker. You'll be putting your opponents on ranges and adjusting to your opponents ranges. You'll learn position. You'll learn different postflop lines against various opponents. Best of all, you'll learn to become a beast at the 25BB and under poker game, which correlates to alot of tournies....and, IMO, tournies are where the real donk money and the occassional big score are at. It's weird, but shortstacking lead to major breakthroughs in my MTT game.

Then again, you'll retard yourself in one way.... you'll never learn how to properly adjust to facing and the fear of future really massive bets compared to stack size. You won't have to make the judgment calls for 30BBs against a SLAG with two pair on the turn with 50BBs behind.

So, yes and no

you'll learn alot, but it won't make you the next fullstack champion. You won't go backwards unless you stop reading opponents and try to autopilot every move.

I can think of 200, but that doesn't PROVE anything. It just proves I have a vivid imagination.

you can talk up yourself all you want, but until you post some legit results/datamine, no one is gonna give you any credit.

good to see you found a new area of the forum to troll after getting laughed out of MSNL

Evidently. Nice to see you here.

MT2R, would you personally be a better poker player if you'd never SS'd and instead fullstacked?

I assume you only fullstack when you play live?

Would you guess SSing made you a better tourney player, and conversely is SSing a good starting poing for tourney players moving to cash games?

You mentioned that SSing is often more effective at higher levels because you can more often resteal against the more aggressive opponents. But do you find that villains at higher levels can adjust for a SSers presence? Has this changed at all since you started? And don't players at higher levels more often put you on the correct range and make good call/fold decisions?

Yeah, everyone hates shortstackers at HSNL because they *don't* win. LOL_erskates. No one can 'prove' that NWE is better than PHL today, yet Vegas has them as a 23-pt favorite.
