TT I cap

99 and 88 are the border line ones.

77 easy fold

I would probably cap with 99 depending on the PF opener. If we can get him to fold QT, that would be great.

88, i'm probably just folding most of the time.

I'd muck all of these. I'm going to give the CO poster some respect until he shows he doesn't deserve it. I'd probably want QQ to play here, though I'd stare at JJ longingly.

Note that the poster doesn't necessarily know that MP is capable of opening light.

Particularly with a LAG behind you, this hand is going to be a nightmare even if you are ahead. Get out cheap.

PS the big difference is the probability of overcards killing you postflop. With QQ, you're just concerned with AK, but with, say, 99, then it's all of broadway that has you scrambling and guessing. With the LAG in there perfectly capable of holding any of these cards, each notch on the pole counts quite a bit.

I'd fold 99-TT here as well.

Fold them all. JJ is even a fold to a raise and a 3-bet.

The CO poster probably has a legitimate hand. We at least need to assume this here, even if it turns out to be wrong. I'd say his range is something like:

99 - AA, AJs - AKs, AQo - AKo

Against that 88 is a pretty easy fold. 99 is borderline, but its sensitivity to overcards will still make it a tough hand to play. It might be good enough to cap but you'd have to be really confident in your postflop play, which is harder without a read on this guy. I'd fold it reluctantly. TT I would probably take to captown because, well, that's what I do with TT.

Wow, I don't agree with this.

Not to be all nitpicky & stuff, but I think which MP position the semilag opened from makes a pretty big difference here. MP3 with a poster in the CO, you can largely discount the initial raise. If the poster knows a thing or two about poker, you can also discount his 3bet pretty heavily. On the other hand, an openraise from MP1 probably does mean that he at least has whatever a normal raising hand for him would be. If that makes sense.

Barring more info and/or a read on the CO, I think 88 & 99 are pretty easy folds. TT becomes more tempting, but you can usually toss this as well. If I do play any of these hands, though, I'm capping largely because I have the button.

I'm definitely capping with AK or AA-JJ.

Disclaimer: I absolutely hate pocket eights, and could therefore be a bit eager to fold them in situations where others could quite legitimately play the hand.

hey Harv,

i don't think it's nitpicky as MP1 vs. MP3 is quite a difference. i believe it was MP2.
