ICM- learn it, eat it, breathe it, sleep with calculations dancing in your head.

And even then, if you're applying ICM near perfectly, 1400 tournies is a mere blip that could swing either way.

Well its quite an oxymoron saying your one of the top players at a certain level, and then saying you disagree with the strategy 99% of winning sng players use.I'm not calling you a liar or anything, its entirely possible to be a winning player without having studied icm, but dont expect to maintain that roi.

Your actually disagreeing with math itself, while playing a math based game. That cant be good in the long run you know.

Think of your self as poker neanderthal, and the introduction of icm to you will evolve you into pokersapien. Its that big of a deal.

I think sngwiz and sngpt both have some kind of free trial so download em both and go over a few hh's and your eyes will open.

I dont think I like the push or fold logic in a SnG

Over what sample size was your 28% ROI?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol, IMO you either did not have this ROI over that sample or you ran hotter than anyone I have ever seen. Your OP alone shows a high amount of big leaks.

Thats a long ass hot streak. My ROI has never been below 28% until this past month, and ive been playin a long time.

And I understand the need to steal blinds, but with what frequency. If im in push or fold mode the entire time i have 1400-2000 chips at 100/200 blinds, im gonna get smoked. Frequency of pushes has a ton to do with this. I know there are calculators out there where you can give a range and see if a push is profitable, but this does not take into account how many times youve raised already. Also,by being the person shoving all the time i dont give the other players many chances to bust.

Theres your problem. Learn ICM, Know ICM, Profit.

ChipLeader, what is your finish distribution?

Would it be something like:

11% 1st
13% 2nd
24% 3rd
52% 4th-9th

By any chance?

That looks about right, though I dont have the logs to verify id say its a very good estimate. And about 20-25% of that last one is 4th
