Default Pre Flop Chart for Micro-Small Stakes Full Ring Holdem

Hi,

I've been playing in micro stakes (0.05-0.10) online for a couple of months now. I'm currently using the preflop standards chart from David Skalnaksy's Holdem for advanced players.
i've recently noticed that people talk about there being quite a difference between online play and playing at a casino.
Is David skalnasky's Pre flop standards chart a good representation of how I should play online at these tstakes.

Thanks

Simon

Use the charts in Small Stakes Hold'em by Miller, Sklansky, & Malmuth.

Should be very applicable for 0.05/0.10 online.

To be clear, you're playing limit not NL, correct?

qft but remember that preflop charts are simply a starting point so you dont get yourself into too much trouble whilst learning. Eventually you should start taking off the training wheels and play the players not just your cards.

why do you have HEFAP and not SSHE?

FWIW playing to SSHE raising standards will get you a PFR of 7-8% but the better players have a PFR of 10%+ as, for example, they steal more and isolate more with weaker holdings in the right spot. SSHE doesnt cover stealing blinds much and I hope it is clear why.

I've got both of the books but was just wondering which one would be best.
It was more the fact that i've got the impression that people seems to have different standards for online play and casino play so I was not sure if either chart was good as they don't seem to mention online play in the books. Maybe this is completely wrong and i've got the wrong end of the stick?

I presume your saying that you don't raise in low stakes games as most people will just call you anyway?

do you consider 5c/10c games to contain advanced players? I dont. ABC poker wins the money at nanostakes. No offence, but if you have to ask if HEFAP is better than SSHE for these games then you probably shouldnt be worrying about HEFAP or the strategies it suggests. eg dont even think about slowplaying AA-KK preflop in the nanos. The nanos is all about value betting not deception or protection.

if that is directed to me, thats not what Im saying. Im saying I raise MORE than what a typical chart says because ive learnt to identify when to do so as opposed to doing it indiscrimately or because someone said. Since youve only been playing a few months you best put HEFAP on the shelf and learn to beat the game using SSHE. SSHE is complex enough as it is. Sure, you may find some games when SSHE doesnt apply and sure you shouldnt always limp any two suited preflop but you need to learn to recognise these spots. You should also get involved in the MicroStakes Limit forum. Cya there.
