Default ALDS: Red Sox vs. Angels

The teams have met a couple times in the playoffs before. In 2004, the Red Sox swept the Angels with Game 3 ending with an Ortiz home run. In 1986, the Sox made an historic comeback down to their last strike.

The Angels seem to be an underrated/ignored team this year. They easily could have ended the season with the best record in baseball if they hadn't stumbled towards the end. Despite their injuries, I think they're much more dangerous than most people are giving them credit for.

Who the hell is this guy with Steve Stone? He sounds familiar. Maybe from the Olympics or something?

Cal Ripken just cleared up why the Dbacks are in the playoffs even though they scored less runs than they gave up.

They manufacture runs and believe in themselves. I don't know what the manufacturing runs has to do with anything, since their opponents apparently do it too, and do it better. But the believing in themselves thing makes sense. I didn't watch a lot of Dbacks games this year, but it makes sense that there were 10-15 games where the final out was recorded, the score was Opponent 7, Dbacks 2, but the Dbacks believed in themselves, rather than the score, and marked it down as a win anyway.

I guess I would have to agree, as nothing else makes sense. But it isn't just believing in yourself that matters, but consistently believing in yourself.

Is it bad for Boston that one of the umps name is pronounced Buckner?
