Default Ronaldinho to Chelsea

Just saw it scrolling across the bottom of ESPN. They just have to agree on a transfer fee and it's good to go. So much for Henry and him playing together.

That rumor's been around for the past month - it started the day before the summer transfer period. ESPN is probably just parroting a British tabloid (the Sun):

Sun tabloid article

Chelsea gets linked to every top player - but unless the Blues want to pony up the 70 million pounds (what I believe Ronaldinho's release fee is), this is highly unlikely.

If it happens it's definitely not a suprise here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...ue#Post12197428

but eventhough I think he has been a rather poor player for some time now it COULD still be a good move for Chelsea as well (I have no doubt it's a GREAT move for Barca where by now he is only holding them back) considering they have endless of money anyway.

Under Mourinho, Ronaldinho just wouldn't fit in but IF and, that's a big if, a change of scenery can inspire him so to speak to a more professional attitude and the fitness that would come with it.
The talent is still there obviously. He could be the missing link that Chelsea needs to play the type of football Abramovich so badly wants to see.
That of course requires an attacking organization that only few coaches are capeable of or let alone dare to experiment with.
Barca more than any other team perhaps has that of course and a subpar Ronaldinho still couldn't function.

The best manager for Chelsea I feel would be someone like Victor Fernandez.

Mourinho did a phenomenal job despite the misassembled squad he was given. To think he wouldn't have properly used Ronaldinho is pretty silly imo.

Chelsea's screwed. Abranovich has Jerry Jones syndrome and will pay the price. Grant is an embarassment as a Premiership gaffer...but he's temporary anyway until Hiddink takes the reins (deal and Russia exit strategy already in place according to sources).

Seriously. Roman has his way, Chelsea would play a 1-9-1 with Chech in goal, Sheva upfront and 9 attacking central midfielders.

The Gallas for Cole exchange is going to go down as fairly disastrous, FWIW...

He would have properly used Ronaldinho of course.
By benching him!

Ronaldinho would be exactly the kind of player Mourinho wouldn't want in his system where he would more than anything be a liability.

Obviously if it was the world player of a couple of years ago, I'm sure you could find space for him somehow but the recent lazy underperforming unfit doing more harm than good shelf of a player, he would strongly resist getting to the club.

And I'm sure whether buying a player like Ronaldinho or not, has been one of the reasons for the various fall outs with Abramovich.
