Detroit:
It's not as bad as others make it. Downtown is improving. And has some very cool spots. Greektown has excellent greek food. Added bonus is that you can play poker at GT casino.

If you really want to do the touristy thing I would suggest Greenfield Village in Dearborn, it's basically a Automotive Historical museam (FORD). Pretty cool.

If you have never been to Canada you cross the border (tunnel or bridge) and go to Windsor. Windsor is a very cool city, nice night life and restaurants. Drinking age is 19. Windsor Casino is much nicer and more relaxing than Detroit, poker room is ok also.

Ann Arbor is about 30 miles west of Detroit, and you can check out a football game at the Big House. Tons of cool college hangouts.

Enjoy.

edit to add you need passport and/or birth certificate for customs if you choose to go to Canada.

While I wouldn't call it "touristy," if you want to hit a fun night spot, go to the Safehouse.

For food, my two favorites are Solly's Coffee Shop (Butter burgers...yes, that's a capital B) and Kopp's Frozen Custard.

The eateries are not close to the stadium, though.

st. louis...do you want something signature or something you'll like?

most out-of-towners hate imo's pizza, but that's about as st. louis as food gets. they have toasted ravioli too. i love imo's, but don't take this as some kind of food challenge. it's not, people honestly hate it because of the crust (cracker) and cheese (provel - don't mistake it for just provolone). the people that like it on their first try usually say, "oh hey it's fine". i haven't seen anybody love it on their first shot. if you're just stopping through and eating 1 or 2 things, i don't think it's worth it.

it happens to be dirt cheap, but i think the best meal at any price here is priyaa (indian restaurant near highway 270 and dorsett, intersected with mckelvey). chicken pakora or mysore masala dosa are both great lead-offs (the latter is way bigger), the must-buy is lamb saag a la carte w/garlic naan. chicken korma (better than the chicken tikka masala) a la carte w/poori is a good choice if you have 2+ people and you're really hungry. my gf and i usually just get pakora and lamb saag and split it.

if you aren't into indian or want something a little nicer, make a reservation at trattoria marcella. they have homemade toasted ravioli that is to die for. somebody has to order the rigatoni. i'm not kidding, it's not an option. somebody has to order it. anyway, that's my favorite italian place in st. louis and not too far from the stadium.

a more lighthearted option that's pretty close to the stadium is an irish pub called mcgurk's. SIT OUTSIDE. lots of great stuff there, the last time i went we got irish chips, chicken wings, and reubens. their reubens are fantastic, but so are their grilled cheese sandwich, artichoke toasted ravioli, corned beef, etc.

ted drewe's is a st. louis standard, frozen custard. it's good, but fritz's is clearly better. go there and order a turtle if you want to really try the stuff. and everyone should love it.

In Milwaukee:

For food go to John Hawke's Pub. Good drink selection, lots of great food, and in a great site right on the river. Its inside the Wells Fargo building downtown.

For touristy stuff, the zoo is cool and one of the best in the country but will take a couple hours at least if you wanna see everything. I'd advise skipping the Calatrava and art museum unless you're an art geek. Other options are brewery tour, museum, pabst mansion, or check if there is a good concert at the eagles ballroom when you're in town.

A note on the safehouse. It's a place that can be fun to some, but to others could be really annoying and just not make for a good night.

In Cleveland, hit the Flats. This may sound lame, but drunk shuffleboard at the Powerhouse followed by a stroll across the street to Christie's Cabaret is a good time.

And it's not old folks shuffleboard; it's 40-foot, 3-feet wide, sanded table pucks, where heavy side betting and lots of drinking make for lots of fun.

BTW, Jared and I have talked in the past about going to a Pirates game. If you're interested, I could be up for it.

It should be fun to see a game in St. Louis as it has a reputation for being a great baseball city with the best player in the world/demigod Albert Pujols.

Cincinnati-- I'd go with Larosas Pizza- like Skyline, it's everywhere.

As for an activity-- it's Oktoberfest season-- so if you like to drink- go to the Hoffbrauhaus. It's 5 minutes from the Reds stadium.
