Re: 14 different games played in the big game???
[ QUOTE ]
No Pinneapple? I remember an interview with Greg Raymer where he was in the middle of playing a 4-game rotation including Badugi with a bunch of big-name players. It was "only" like 200-400 limit or something like that...so it wasn't the "big game" but it was a really unusually collection of games IIRC. [/ QUOTE ] I think this was a CP video at the 2005 WSOP. Raymer was playing with John Phan and some others IIRC. I thought the games were O8, badugi, triple draw, and LHE, though I could be way off base. |

Jourdain : If your going to infringe upon someone else's copyright you should at least give them credit for it. Quit passing along other peoples writing as your own.

I know you were also blasting me because of the H.O.R.S.E. updates from CP, everyone else seems so to be OK with it because they couldn't check CP from work. Give it a rest already. SOmeone asked a question, I gave the answer. |

What was the source, anyway? [/ QUOTE ] I think it was an article from Bluff magazine. I saved this text in a word-document, so I don't have the direct link. |

Re: 14 different games played in the big game???
Though it is often a mixed game, it is also often not (despite what the article says). Since the big game has gotten a lot of press, a lot more big spender have come wanting to play, and the regularls will follow suit as to whatever the non-reg wants to play.
Larry Flynt has been in town a lot recently, and only wants to play 7 card stud, so that was what they were playing about a week ago at the Venetian. It was 4K/8K stud. Eli Elezra, Chip Reese, and yes, Lyle Berman were there, along with the standbys, Ivey, Brunson, and Greenstein. Another not so well known thing is the fact that it is often referred to as "Barry's Game" since he is the one that coordinates it (i.e. getting everyone together and deciding where to play by making arrangements with the casino). Traditionally, in the past, it has been played at Bellagio, but they have been playing consistently more often at Venetian now. After the WSOP, it is being rumored that it will move to the Venetian on a more permanent basis. When they are in the Salon, there is a full food and drink setup, and full time host and floorpeople in the room as well. |
