Quite frankly, I'm surprised that Long didn't declare himself draft eligible last year.

Long, Hart, and Henne all came back because they should've been contending for the national title this year.

Its sad how much that blocked FG changed for those seniors. Even if they then go and still [censored] the bed against Oregon, they are in great shape right now if they just make that FG. Probably like 6-7 in the BCS right? And with a chance to beat tOSU and maybe a championship shot.

If only they would've shown up those first two games, they'd be 8-1 because they wouldn't have beaten Oregon no matter what. Might have kept it within a couple TDs, but there's no way they're better than Oregon, even at peak capacity.

Right so they'd be 8-1 and maybe top 5 in the BCS? Oregon is really good, no shame in that loss, especially if you dont consider margin.

Pace won the Lombardi trophy each of his last 2 years, racking up 41 pancake blocks as a junior, and 74 as a senior, thereby introducing the term into football lexicon through his dominance. His RB won the Heisman. He even blocked a FG.

No sacks given up goes without saying.

If only they would've shown up those first two games, they'd be #1 right now. You're right, though, if they would've at least half shown up to the first one, even losing to Oregon they'd be something like 6-7.

As it is now, though, they're probably still going to the Rose Bowl. If things hold like they should (famous last words), they'll either win the Big 10 on November 17 or tOSU will lock up the #1 spot and UM will go to the Rose Bowl in their place.

No way does a 3-loss Michigan team get a BCS At large bid.

Actually, the chances are pretty good. Rose Bowl loves a Big 10- Pac 10 match. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they went to the Rose Bowl.

Jake Long is a good one. Another Long, Chris Long of Virginia, would be another excellent non-traditional Heisman candidate.
