I'd like to throw in the idea of going to the Field Museum to see the current "King Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit. I went several years ago when I was younger, and from what I remember it was pretty damn sweet. They have added a lot of pieces not viewed before, and it should be much better than before. King Tut is cool, but don't go expecting to see the Tut mummies or sarcophagus, you'll be disappointed. Also, it's very crowded and only gets worse the later you go in the day as people back it up. You pretty much need to buy tickets in advance, you can do that online, just get an early admit time. To really look at it closely and see everything, you'll need 3 hours.
