Default Something is using my bandwidth

Something strange is going on recently with my computer.
As the day goes on the speed of my connection goes down.

I installed ShowTraffic and it shows a lot of traffic. I cannot figure out where it is coming from.

This is also affecting other computers on my network.
I do have a wireless router but it is password protected and all the computers are hard-wired.
I check and there is no one else connected.

The only way I can get it to stop is by reseting the modem and the router.

IIS services are not active and I have run Spybot S&D and AdAware but to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas?

Could it be that your connection slows down around peak usage times, i.e around 6pm-10pm local time. Or does it slow down the longer your computer is online?

What exactly does showtraffic show? You should not have active connections that you are unaware of. Download TCPview to see what has an active connection. Report back.

Edit: Do any of the other hard-wired computer have filesharing programs running? Torrents will cause the exact problems you are describing.

Not connected to the time of day. Just the longer it is online the slower it gets.

Shows loads of connections I know nothing about.

Do the other computers have any sort of torrent programs active? Will you take a screenshot of TCPview? Post it here or PM it to me.

Edit: What's the make/model of your router? Are you using cable or DSL?

Doesn't seem to be anything there whereas ShowTraffic shows a lot more.

My wi-fi/router is a Sweex Wireless Broadband Router 11G (LC000070)

The modem is connect to the uplink on the router. It is a
B-Focus 270-PR.

This is what ShowTraffic gives

I'm stumped right now. Everything points to a router problem. I'm not familiar with that router, though. Will revisit it tomorrow if someone else doesn't come up with a fix before that. Good luck.
