LOL at that collection of bands on tour together.
Henry Rollins-style spoken word vocalist Screamo Awesome band moving into melodic stage Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Also, lol at my first time seeing Thrice's lead singer. Definitely not what you'd expect.

I saw thrice in SF in 2003 right after the Angels beat the Giants in the world series. They were wearing angels stuff so i went up on the balcony and threw m&ms at them.

sounds like they didn't play a great set list goofy. When i saw them they played '70x7' 'jude law' 'shower scene' and 'mix tape' off the first album and every song off deja apart from 'good to know..' which was awesome. they also played a few songs off the new one but i cant remember which. And ya, there were tons of emo high school kids there. I tried to pull off the whole 'uni dropout/degen who's been into this band for years' vibe but i dont think it worked

I've seen Brand New 3 times and I'm with you, great set lists each time. Sorry they pulled this on you goofy. Brag: first concert after starting at GT was Brand New, Rufio and Taking Back Sunday in a venue big enough for about 75 people with 120 crammed into it and a "stage" 8 inches off the floor. 2nd best concert to Thursday, Thrice and Coheed. Beat: also had to unwittingly sit through a mewithoutyou set to see the headliners at a show.
