In your quads?

edit: I'm going to save a step and add that I'm suspicious of your depth.

How come no one talks about how it feels like coming when they get an ass pump from reverse hypers?

Would that be more ghey than talking about how swoll you are and flexing in the mirror while other guys ask how your glute striations are coming in?

Also, can anyone here say they achieved a pump from squatting or deadlifting? Those are two of the most effective muscle and strength builders yet they don't seem like the type of exercises to get a pump from. Am I wrong here?

After a heavy set of deadlifts or squats I can tell you I get more of a pump than any exercise. After squats the 'pump' in my legs is unmatched.

There's no way to create the same effect on the quads with squats that you get with the biceps and curls (as an example). You can get closer by not going deep, but there are still too many major muscle groups to pick up slack as your quads fatigue to achieve the same levels of fatigue you can get in a single joint isolation exercise. You can get something in the same family of thing, but different imo.

I too have felt the intense burn/quad fatigue from doing squats and experienced the existential crisis one can get from deads or squats-- but my first instinct (and skepticism) is going to be to question either the range of motion on the squat or how extreme the pump effect you are reporting truly is. I suspect the leg press machine will actually give you that (but I don't use it, so don't know).

im with shemp...i've never gotten an "arnold" type pump from doing deads/squats...i really only get them in my biceps and forearms...but to be honest i don't think it really feels that great...
