There are a lot of factors that can drive down the value of the dollar. I have no idea what the index encompasses but it's becoming more clear to me that the US dollar was once a great tool to buy foreign assets with, however it seems that those same companies/counties we bought shait from, aren't intersted in buying those assets back. All the while we are piling on interest payments and everybody is losing faith in a REAL WORLD ASSET to back up the FICTIONAL DOLLAR VALUE that everyone held to be self evident and true.

well if the fed cuts rates (and they will), and the ECB still on a tightening bias, then it will continue going lower lower lower.

Some country is dumping US treasuries...

Dump US treasuries

If you were holding billions of US currency and are watching it drop, would you still hold on? I'd dump and get some gold (relatively safe)...

The Fed Reserve is print up US dollars like its water...

Hyperinflation is a lock. Oil over $100, Gold over $1000 in 2008. Take that to the bank.

Hardly, in the remote chance it does occur in the dollar you will have a worldwide meltdown, better to invest in generators, guns, bullets, language lessons and bottled water.

Agree fully with Jimbo.
But I do see some very huge problems comming for the USD.
Anyway, I have some funds in USD on a pokersite right now, should I be converting to CDN before it reaches par / eclipses the USD. What a nightmare that is, 5 years ago 10k USD = 13.5k CDN now =10.001k
